So, it's mostly down to price gouging. I'm moving to an era where that is the only cable provider. There's Dish and Direct TV, but Comcast will be the only one that uses cable. I was tempted to use them, since there's no contract, but... maybe not?

Have you tried their internet service?

Yeah, I use them for internet because I pretty much have to. The only other internet options at my address are DSL, which is too slow, and satellite internet, which has too high of a ping time for online gaming. I'm getting about 28 mbps for $70 a month I think. Other options are 10 mbps for $50, 75 mbps for $80, 150 mbps for $85, and 2 gbps for $300. Pricing is definitely too high for the speeds imo. Ping time is good for online gaming though (less than 50 ms usually) and I don't have too many outages (maybe once or twice per month I'll have a 15 minute or so outage and occasionally one that'll last longer).

Now I see what you're talking about. Charter is 60 mbps for 60 dollars a month. Ugh... I sure hope pricing is better in the Chicagoland area than it is where you're at. I don't want to shell out 80 dollars a month for internet.
