| Shadis said: Do not use the fire stick for PlayStation Vue. If you are going with Amazon you have to use the FireTV. Th FIreStick tends to lag and have some other issues(crashes, video quality issues, etc). Over all though I have been using PlayStation Vue for 4 months now on two TV(mainly using Fire TV on both) and it has been great! We had a couple of hicups early on, but they seem to have worked them all out. The quality had been very good with a few exceptions. Fast moving scenes can 'break up' a little bit some times and occasionally we get issues with picture quality, but that is pretty rare now.
The DVR can be a bit of a pain at times as there is no way to 'record' just the new episodes, it pretty much records every episode. It only keeps the shows for 28 days, so if you like to horde and binge that could be a problem. Though a lot of the channels are getting On Demand now, which pretty much fixes that issue.
Over all we have really enjoyed it with very little problems.
FYI: I run at 100Mbps. |
Thank you, Mr. FirstResponder.
I do have a "spare" PS3 with works fine with the exception of the disc drive. This could serve as PlayStation Vue... station on my 60" while I game with my fully fuctional PS3 on the 55". I do know that we cannot simutaneously stream on 2 PS3s at the same time which gives me more incentive for the PS4 Pro when it comes out to also stream Vue. I'd really hate to fork out $99 for the Amazon Fire with the stick being more affordable at $40.
Hoarding shows with the 28 day cloud service Vue DVR is a non-issue with my wife and I. With the kid is another issue, but I am Dad, and there is always Netflix to fall back on to a certain degree.
Also, there is no BBC American on Vue, correct? No Doctor Who then?
