Sony has revealed via a promotional Facebook image that Resident Evil 7: biohazard’s VR mode will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 users for a period of 12 months. In other words, you won’t be able to play it in VR on any other format until at least January 2018.
Resident Evil 7 PSVR mode allows gamers to play through the entirety of Capcom’s upcoming survival horror sequel using Sony’s virtual reality headset, which adds a whole new dimension of immersion to the proceedings. We’ve tried it already, and suffice to say, the atmosphere afforded by PSVR is palpable.
Resident Evil 7 demo update introduces new items and rooms
Capcom recently updated its Beginning Hour demo for Resident Evil 7, which introduces a number of fresh content, such as new items and a brand new room to explore. It even gives us a use for the mysterious dummy finger, though it’s still not possible to actually escape the farmhouse without getting KO’d by Jack Baker.
Resident Evil 7 is due out on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on January 24, 2017. The game takes place some years after the events of Resident Evil 6, and sees players controlling fresh-faced protagonist Ethan as he searches for his missing wife on a sprawling plantation mansion in Louisiana. The game also takes place entirely from a first-person perspective.
