One other thing. People often say sub is more faithful to the original... that's not always the case. As someone who knows about as much Japanese as a Japanese 2 year old (took it for a year and a half and study it on my free time when I'm not doing French) I can tell you right now a lot of that sub shit doesn't match what the Japanese VA is actually saying. I don't have specific examples but if you wanna watch anime "pure", just learn the language

I dislike the "Alvin & the Chimpmunks" voices as well, but 90% of the male voices usually ends up sounding cheesy.

Example:

"Dattebayo" in a normal, teenage-like voice VS "BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" in a voice that sounds like someone who'd stalk you for your entire life
