This is through and through a business decision, whether it's because of a partnership with Netflix, because they don't want to cannibalize their incoming luxury UHD player, or because the market is moving toward digital faster than UHD is being adopted. Has nothing to do with faith, they've already proven themselves on that aspect.

 

I suppose it could also be because of console parity between the new slim/pro and OG but idk about that

Or like, if PS4 is to be substituted in 2 years by PS5 and the 4k TVs adoption rate doesn't show a profit on including the drive on PS4Pro that would be a reason.
