I think Microsoft is paying Sony for the blu-ray tech in a way. Not just Sony but others as well like Pioneer, Samsung, etc. Don't quote me on that though.

I don't think Microsoft automatically makes money off of sales of games that run on Windows. Microsoft does make money off of new games that sell on XBox.
