Single biggest reason why Wii U failed was marketing (in marketing I include terrible and naming and of course terrible and misunderstood marketing), and that is very connected with fact they revile Wii U too early. Followd buy high price in combination with very weak launch and 1st year lineup, constant software droughts and not appealing gamepad. Those are main reasons why Wii U failed, but I agree that timing was one of factor because lotsa people decided to wait one year to see PS4/XB1 console, buy time PS4/XB1 arrivd Wii U was already dead and 3rd party already abandoned platform. Fact that basicly marketing was Wii Us single biggest problem, with NX they changing strategie with revel and marketing, today in tech industry 3-4 months of very good and strong marketing is much better than having 6-12 or even months of usual marketing, XB1 was revealed 6 months before launch while PS4 Pro only 2 months before launch, Nintendo can (and most likly will) revel NX in October and launch it in March and do it all right. |
I dont believe this to be true. Your wrong about why Wii U failed.
Marketing was a problem, but it was NOT the biggest one. (what comes first, chicken or egg? marketing wise)
Also Early marketing is NOT the same as Bad marketing. (early marketing =/= bad marketing , so your entire arguement falls apart)
It cant be said the reason the Wii U had bad marketing was because it was early revealed.
You do understand the the differnce between a "new console + new concept" vs "updated console" ?
So you cant compaire the time needed to effectively market the PS4pro to the NX needed time.
