Because if NX becomes a hit like Wii, 3rd parties will want to bring their games over and those NX owners could buy that version instead of being forced to another console. If Wii was HD, (even the lowest possible spec) it could have done another 25 mil (minimum) and take away from PS360. Wii could have been a real PS2 type system,
3rd party has been reduced to bonus status for Nintendo consoles (conversely, MSony are heavily reliant on 3rd parties), but that doesn't mean the bonus has to be kept in a tiny box...it can be a big bonus, big enough to make the NX = ultimate/well rounded console.
