Anyone else excited that we are finally seriously working on going to Mars?

I think discovery and exploration is important. But then I also think come on people are starving in our own countries we have to fix that first and then what about the rest of the world. We need to help the middle east and Africa and burma and Palestine etc. We can do both things simultaneously since the USA military budget is enough money to save millions upon millions of lives but funily enough we can save the world but choose not to do it. Then I start thinking about why people would want to live longer and be more depressed by what people choose to do. And then I wish I don't live that long. I won't suicide or anything but I hope a natural death comes to me sooner rather than later
