In all honesty, by the definition of "racism" given in the OP - and it's the accepted definition at present - anyone that isn't "racist" is probably naive, blind, stupid or stubborn. There is a thing called genetics, and they are very powerful. I come from a large family and we have a very strong genetic resemblance in just about everything: looks, height, intelligence, humor, athletic ability, etc. We also each have strong differences and individuals. But it's clear that humans with common genetics have similar qualities. And it's also clear that certain genetic sub groupings have strengths and weaknesses that would make them potentially "superior" based on your criteria. As said above, if the survival of the human race depended on running real fast, it's pretty hard to argue that the black race isn't superior and better suited to survival. If it can apply to running speed, it clearly can apply to everything else, from eyesight to smelling to immune systems to geography and on and on. Surely different parts of the world and sources of various racial sub-groups developed differently and have different strengths. If you value certain strengths more than others, and you accept that certain races have certain advantages, you are obviously a racist. So I guess I'm a racist.

But I don't think that's truly racism. To me, racism is discriminating against individuals because of their race. Sure, black people on average are probably faster runners than white dudes. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't let white dudes run. And it doesn't mean a particular white dude could be super fast. And Swedes may be the tallest people in the world, but that doesn't mean Yao Ming doesn't exist. And some guys from Saudi Arabia may have flown a plane into a building, but that doesn't mean I should hate the Lebanese guy that wants to marry my sister.

I think being aware of various racial and cultural traits of groups isn't a bad thing, it's simply scientific. I think truly bad "racism" or racial discrimination only happens when you harm or take action against an individual because of the racial group they belong to, or if you take negative action against a group because of the actions of an individual. Those are things I am strongly against.

But I do love a good racial joke.
