Imo this is the downfall of console gaming. And no its not the same game since your friends one looks and runs better. Thats like saying playing CoDBo3 on PS3 is the same as PS4... Like i said the is a reason consoles stuck around for so long and the is also a reason why mid gen short gen too many consoles failed before. People will just get sick with trying to keep up... |
I couldn't disagree more with that ps3/ps4 comparison. The correct comparison would be a PC playing in ultra settings and a PC playing in medium/high settings. Why should the world of console gaming be the only one that should not keep up with the technology advancements?
I honestly don't understand it. If you're happy with your current console, why should it matter at what settings I'm playing my game? Does it take anything away from your experience? I could understand some anger if there would be 2 different games, or locked functionality between 2 games, or even exclusive games. But none of those things is happening, so what's with all the sourness?
No generation before the ps3/xb360 (that I can remember) went for 6+ years. That was an abnormality and honestly speaking, it went for way way too long. I had to force myself to turn on my old gen consoles because of how outdated they looked, and sometimes I would skip games entirely if they weren't on PC in the last few years.
So... yeah... don't upgrade if you're happy with the console, enjoy the games. And once the new gen starts just enjoy the massive performance leap you're going to get.
