GT is probably the best "sim" racer though... but I don't have nearly as much fun with sims as I do arcade racers.

That's Mario Kart wii alone, Mario Kart 8 is not like that.

If you're in first place in MK8 and the last place player throws a blue shell, you're fucked unless you just so happen to have a super horn but that would be a case of having... luck.

I don't want to come off as someone who hates Mario Kart. I love Mario Kart. But you can't take it seriously due to random chance.
