Upon googling, I haven't found any clear answers as to that.

But considering SEGA's expectations, it must've been quite a lot.

Im gonna go out on a limb... and say their expectations for this game must be higher than any of the previous titles and they probably shipped more than ever.

And it still sold though over 70% of its original shipment day1.

Atlus deserve every damn sale this generates though, persona is a amasing series.
