Disolute: I don't think you entirely got my point, although I must stress that I don't actually think Nintendo is significantly more diverse than, say, Sony. They are both diverse, but they are diverse in different ways.

Consider these two examples. Which two pairs are more diverse: Mario Golf and Mario Galaxy or Castlevania: SotN and Super Metroid?

The latter two examples have the exact same characters, virtually no storyline, but are entirely different to play. The latter two have very different characters and storylines, but the gameplay is virtually identical.

In essence, what Nintendo lacks in diversity of characters they make up for in diversity of gameplay. Some other studios have more characters but less gameplay diversity, and so forth.

LOL...you had to use my fave game as example eh?

I agree that super metroid and SotN have more in common than those 2 titles gameplay wise...but on a technical level, they do not have anything in common. Different sound FX, kickass music for both...sprites...backgrounds all different.

However don't you feel that most nintendo games lately have the exact same (family friendly) vibe? Same production values? Same art direction? Even the most die hard nintendo fan must be getting tired of mario yelling "YAH!" over and over. Even gameplay wise... its getting stagnant to me... Oh look its bowser again...and hes shooting things at me...wow, what would happen if i shoot him back with his projectile...YAY!

Remember when nintendo would publish a game like killer instinct, mario bros 2 (yoshi island) and
Ken Griffey Jr. Winning run baseball all 3 months apart? All different productions, different style of games...and top of their class... You don't get that anymore from them. Like I think WiiFit is the coolest thing nintendo is done since Wiisports...

From their AAA games for the wii thus far, I think MP3 sticks out like a sore thumb as far as being different in style, themes and production. Retro Studios is indeed a talented developer in my opinion and I hope nintendo takes care of them well.
