Well the Pro appeals strongly to two demographics (new comers and early adopters looking for an upgrade) while the Slim only has strong appeal to a subset of one demographic (new comers who are looking for a budget option). I mean, very few are going to upgrade to the Slim, reduced noise and size just aren't enough to warrant that for 99% of current owners.
