I do get you with the narative and story of the Soulsborne series. But, do take note that it is a new and unique approach to storytelling. Aren't you sick and tired of spoon-feeding the story for you? For me the Soulsborne series gave me a whole new light in reading deep inside the story of the game.
Like in Dark Souls, you are led to believe the the whole "Chosen" Undead thing is your typical chosen hero save the world kayfabe. Only to find out that Gwyn was so obsessed with his Age of Fire that he did not want it end. If you look at the game straight forwardly it actually ends normally to a casual... But if you are a fan of the game, THEN it leaves holes for the imagination.. That is what miyazaki wanted, he wanted players to interpret his game. Thus, Dark Souls to be a REAL RPG, where you can roleplay and set your own lore and interpretation.
