Even if a person doesn't need those apps, the person is still paying essentially the same price as they would for an Android phone. I guess OS smoothness but I would trade 0.03ms of lag for an official youtube/maps app any day (And not to mention millions of others). It was only a matter of time before this happened anyway.

But I don't think this will be the end for MS hardware. Their Surface line is doing quite well and their xbox consoles are doing well also. They aren't winning the console wars or the tablet wars but they aren't exactly getting rekt either (compared to others).

They're actually doing well in the tablet market. Windows tabs already have double digit share in the market.
