That ARC return is no better than using optical s/pdif. Just use that instead until you upgrade the receiver. It sucks going back to lossy compressed audio, yet good 100+ watt per channel amps aren't cheap either.
I'll wait another year, everything should be more affordable by then and HDR better realized.
