So you wan't to see the character or soul of FFVII get killed Kasz, cause those scenes you call silly partly define the game, and the cross-dressing at the Wall Market is hilarious and the dialogue throughout the scene is comical as hell. Those scenes are part of FFVII's identity, you can't take them out.

Those scenes don't fit with Crisis Core or Advent Children. That's the thing... the more modern fans who are mostly fans of FF7 through the sequels and games like Kingdom Hearts would likely find such scenes stupid. (I'm not sayin i agree. I'm just saying it'd change things.)

Think of for example. Batman.

Compare an Adam West Batman era of comics to later versions of Batman comics. They just don't make sense as the same person.

If you consider that killing the soul of the characters in FF7... Advent Children and Crisis Core have already killed the soul of the FF7 characters.

I understand what you mean, but Crisis Core and AC differ from VII in a very important way, and that's those editions where new and left room for maybe a slightly other tone, where VII already exists and changing scenes from VII self in a remake would be just unacceptable and nothing less than betrayal. And the differences in time and age between the earlier Batman's, West is from the '60, and the later ones is much bigger; it goes from from the '30 until the 21th century. That's from before the second WW, through the Cold War, and past that, and it's still alive. I just can't imagine Square change the scenes that partly made FFVII what it is and what it is loved for.
