This flood of articles defending what, in my humble opinion, is a flagrant mistake by Sony, are starting to get revolting.

It's as if people were not able to blatantly admit: "This was an obvious mistake" as if somehow Sony was above making mistakes.

Then, when companies like Nintendo make a mistake that is often very debatable, everyone is jumping on the company. The bias is really stupid.

The issue with the article is here:

When it comes right down to it, the lack of 4K UHD disc support is simply a business decision that actually makes sense for the company. Why? Because this is not the end of the story.

...

The problem with this decision is that Sony and MS are now not only competing for who will win over gamers. They are competing even more over who will control the living room. And MS is being very aggressive about this...

Sony "controls" the living room with electronics, NOT just PS4 Pro.  And of course Microsoft is being agressive because they have no choice but to be.  Sony's business model is more in line with "controlling" the living room.  Microsoft's not so much.   Microsoft has to annouce the Scorpio ASAP to stay as relevant as possible with the past monentum of the PS4, and now the potential momentums of both the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro.  And who knows how the market will be by the time the Scorpio the released.  That's the biggest gamble Microsoft faces right now.

EDIT: And for the record.  I don't think it's a mistake.  Does that make me more bias than you...?
