Well, you still miss the point and the essence. Sony wants those players to be sold separately. Well SIE head Andrew House has reaffirmed against the article's technical points, that a firmware upgrade will not be possible to add the support.  Even a slightest wink to Pro customers could hurt.

The pint at the essense is that SONY doesn't want to compete with themselves. Thats obvious. They want to sell their UHDBD boxes without having to offer an advantage for buying them over the PS4Pro, such as a remarkably lowered price for those that dont care about gaming. I wonder if their electronics and gaming divisions are on a fight over this.
