That doesn't make sense at all. Firstly, your assumption that the laser currently in the console is able to process more layers than it was built for is completely grabbed out of the air. Secondly, The PS4 has a lot more worth to Sony than any Bluray player, simply because you can consume a lot more Sony content through a PS4 than you could with a Bluray player. I don't see any reason why Sony would actively discourage people from buying the PS4. The divisions are not a rivalry.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
