Maybe, maybe not... Xbox One is still the baseline for developers when the Scorpio releases. And there won't be any exclusives (Scorpio only) for the console apart from VR. Hence its still tied down to this generation.

When PS5 eventually launches, you can be sure that MS isn't long to follow suit.

They are going from 1.3TF to 6TF that is a huge and a gen jump unlike PS4 to PS4Pro. It will be intresting to see the price and the difference in visuals. By the time PS5 is released 4K will be more popular and probably main stream in 4yrs time

Its a big jump in performance but MS's PR people have said it themselves, the console is designed for native 4K gaming. And I'm willing to bet that running in 4K all will take up all its resources.

Even when you lower the resolution (1080 or otherwise), will we developers utilize all that extra grunt to improve IQ? Supersampling etc and improved AA is nice but like what other people have critisized the PS4 Pro for.. Will that be enough to entice people to upgrade?

Its not a new generation. For that both console manufacturers will need to participate in a new console standard. And the jump will have to be considerably bigger.
