Not for the right reasons imo, mostly because prettier pictures sell more games than better performance. 

But it would be nice to have the option to makwe 1080 60fps instead of non native 4k 30fps, that way people with 1080p could some some significant improvements with pro appart from sligtly better shadows or more antialiasing.

I agree. I'm waiting to see whether other devs take the same route as Crystal Dynamics before getting one.
