Why is it weird? Devs have been opting for better visual fidelity over framerate for years now.

Not for the right reasons imo, mostly because prettier pictures sell more games than better performance. 

But it would be nice to have the option to make 1080p 60fps instead of non native 4k 30fps, that way people with 1080p could get some significant improvements with pro appart from slightly better shadows or more antialiasing.
