Sounds like he isn't even a "die hard" PC gamer. Most I've seen and read that are dedicated PC gamers never talk about a console the way he does, he's more gushing for it and all "welp PC gaming got kicked in the weeds" kind of talk. We are in this day and age where I can own a laptop from 10 years ago and still make that easy claim that I'm a die hard PC gamer without actually doing any saif PC gaming. It's like how easy it is to say tosomeone on the street that I donate my free time to the Red Cross without actually having to and people would have to take my word for it.
Also he's comparing a PC for less of the price of the Pro and not comparing a build that is better to play at native 4k. End of the day a really dirt cheap PC (talking in the £2-300 range) setup won't be able to compete agains the PF ratio of the pro, but that doesn't mean to say we can't show up the differences between a high end setup vs the pro (which seems to get shoved out the door because of the price argument which is silly at that point toa rgue).
Also just like to point out that OP left the alst piece of the article out (of course for convenience sake):
Custom PC builders need not fear: there are still enormous advantages to building your own PC, not least the ability to upgrade the graphics card every two or three years when gaming technology advances. That, and the fact actually buying PC games is a lot cheaper in the long run. The so-called 'PC Master Race' probably isn’t worried, but everybody else looking for higher quality graphics on consoles should be delighted.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
