Did Square Enix make make the right decision?

ATB is the best battle system for Final Fantasy. I would really love for Square Enix to return to this battle system in future Final Fantasy games, especially since FFXV kind of looks like a mess and from what I've seen from the demo, the battle system is pretty awful.
