Historically incorrect. You want to know what killed HD-DVD? Answer: Warner Bros. Warner Bros was supporting Blu-ray, HD-DVD, and DVD. When their Blu-Ray and HD-DVD sales were stagnant while DVD sales dipped over the Holiday shopping season (forgot which year), Warner Bros saw it as a sign that the consumers were on the fence when it came to deciding an HD format. So on their own accord, Warner Bros publicly announced their abandonment of HD-DVD and their full support behind Blu-Ray. That's when the dominoes fell in favor of Blu-Ray. The consumers spoke by not speaking which paved the way for Blu-Ray success. True story.
