I generally didn't consider the idea of more stable processing and therefore games which are meant to be 60fps by struggle on current consoles (probably due to bad optinisation) may perform better on the new ones, even if not in 4K. A good point.

For new purchases, it is a given that the new consoles would be considered but with the slims out at the sale time at £100 less, that might be more appealing.
