I'm a bit worried by the fact that the footage shown was from a pre-Alpha build, because I would assume that a game that's roughly six months from launch would be already on Alpha stage. So yes, I'm a bit worried that the game may be delayed once more.
About that plant scanning in the OP, I wouldn't worry too much for it. The scanning wasn't done by the player like the activation of the platforms later on, there was no triangle button sign, but done by the game itself to give the sensation that in Andromeda things don't have to work like we're used to. It won't become a No Man's Sky or Metroid Prime game.
