Not Bold - Im 30, so not under 22, as if age even matters, but whatever. you brought it up - I've played FF since the NES. All of them besides the online ones or chronicles, so im gonna be as arrogant as to say I understand this game very well and "how it developed over the years" I've loved -almost- all of them. But a game is designed according to its time and place and the market is not "people over 30", if anything its the opposite. The very games you mentioned are what get audience and critical acclaim, why wouldn't you follow a winning formula? Im not saying thats the right or only path to follow, im just saying its the obvious one.  Has nothing to do with the final quality a game has. In a franchise that reinvents itself with every new entry, does it even surprise you that the gameplay would change from game to game? If you don't like it thats you problem and its fine. I didnt like FF13's gameplay. I thought it was shit. But to go ahead and suggest  "this game HAS to be this way because I don't like change" well kid, you're the problem. 

First point. Not because I said so, no but because isn't that what FF is? A turn based RPG? Unless I've played something else the last 20 years. Even the FF13 with it's press X to attack style was still turn based in a sense, it had the ATB.

The 22 age thing was a generalisation, and sorry about that, saying turn based combat is prehistoric is too, no? I do understand your point but even then your point conflict with the subject.

But Final Fantasy is the winning formula, it has sold more than all those game can dream of, why aren't they replicating FF traditional gameplay? Because that's not their style, that's not what people like about those games. Maybe a turn based Witcher could be a success, but those who like Witcher for what it is now would wonder why it's not like the other Witcher games. The game was developed for a time and era, what has changed over the years and made it the winning success it is, it wasn't the drastic change of gameplay that made it succeed but a change it setting, tone and a different magic system with the same basic gameplay. 

Nothing to do with not liking change, more wanting what I liked about something not to be totally removed. I'd have similar concern if Namco decided to stop doing a 3D Tekken and decided to make it on a 2D plane to replicate Street Fighter's success, when Tekken is already the best 3D fighting game on the market.
