The Xbox One S will likely take up the lower price bracket as the cheaper alternative.
Scorpio being a more "Premium" product in the stack can be priced higher.

If it's just more halo gears forza, sadly I don't see it doing any better than the current One. Just prettier. I would like a return to 360 like software support and third party exclusives like blue dragon, eternal sonata, beautiful katamari, ace combat 6, and many other. |
I don't really have much time for Japanese games these days, but I can see why people might be attracted to such games.
With that said... I have to agree, Microsoft lacks a good variety of exclusives and that is something they need to fix.
It's ironic because Nintendo have the opposite problem, they don't get enough Multiplats. Haha
I'm with the Xbox because Sony doesn't have the franchises that appeals to me most, but that's a personal preference thing.

In terms of compute maybe, but do try and hold some reservation untill hardware is in our hands... There is more to rendering a game than the amount of flops and bandwidth a chip has.

It will likely do 1440P/1600P/1800P and then use frame reconstruction or upscaling to 4k. There is a big benefit to this over regular 1080P.
| Soundwave said: I think it will be $399.99. All it is is a Polaris 11 which is a 5.5 TFLOP processor clocked up a bit. A Polaris 11 is a cheap GPU. MS learned their lesson with the XBOne launch, Scorpio is basically the apology console. |
Positive the hardware specifications of Scorpio haven't been announced yet, we have no idea what GPU it will be using.
| barneystinson69 said: Doubt it (unless they're willing to eat a loss). Microsoft is much more capable of eating a loss, and a GPU with 6-8tflops shouldn't be much more expensive by the time the scorpio releases (the RX 480 is almost 6tflops and only $200). |
Microsoft does have shareholders though which dislike loss-eating schemes, Microsoft actually had to change the way it announced it's financials to hide any hits to the division.
As for flops and cost. An 8 Teraflop GPU could cost the exact same amount as a 4 Teraflop GPU.
It all comes down to yield and how the chip reacts to voltage and clock rates.
