Powerless? Did you think for a second how much power people have here? We're run by something worst than dictators. My people are sheeps and we danced to the ploy of Oligarchs in that remarkable show of democarcy called "Edsa Revolution". It was both a blessing and a curse. The dictator who was drunk with power was taken out at the same time the one who took over lead to multiple conflict of interests by bringing back what was taken from the Oligarchs due to their unjust monopolization. Making most of the commodities that otherwise should have been easily accessible and affordable for the general public a slow and painful death as time goes by.

I answered your question but you seem to think that I'm supporting the killings. I have been clear and stated that there is a probation going on and there have been multiple hearings and investigations. Big heads were being put in their place to answer to such.

What answer do you want me to give you except the obvious one.

Please tell me you have an idea of the politcs there before you even start this discussion. You don't even have an idea of the statistics before hand and you start harangguing me with such questions trying to make it seem we have a valid equal argument here.

It still doesn't change my stance that I agree with Duterte on this one. That there is a process taking place and Obama or America has no God damn say about it regardless of their past assistance. He is a president of the Philippines who will answer to only the Filipino people.

Just saying "there is a probation going on" is not a clear answer when I don't know what kind of probation you are talking about or who it involves. Especially when you didn't specify what comment of mine you said that in reference of, if any.
After your remarks about knowledge on the subject I figured you would be able to enlighten us with a more detailed explanation than "there are probations".
But since there were hundreds of unsolved murders attributed to vigilante death squads under Duterte's time as mayor in Davao, I guess I shouldn't have expected a reasuring answer.
My girlfriend was on vacation in the Philippines some months ago. Everything went well, but it didn't occur to us to look up these kind of things in advance for a country that signed the decleration of human rights. I suppose that's a lesson learned for next time when deciding where to go.

I didn't say I didn't know of any statistics though. I said I didn't post any. I have read articles about numbers related to killings after he took office and comparisons to previous terms. I wasn't discussing that subject though. I was talking about the details surrounding the encouragment of sitizens comitting vigilante murders, and the problems that can arrise from them.
As for the power of the people, I'm not sure if by "taken out" you're refering to the assasination of Aquino, but many suspected that it was ordered by president Marco. Politicians often give people the illusion that they're more in charge of things than they really are, because it's difficult to regulate what goes on behind closed doors.

Well then let's stop this here. I don't see the point in trying to continue further with the discussion when I have to spell out every detail. Like I said, I'm sick of politics filling my feed. If you think it's not enough senate probing/investigation and CHR on every news with the media running this 24/7 for weeks or months then I don't know what you want. But clearly Obama nor America is not the answer here.

If that doesn't satisfy you then nothing will. If you're supporting what Obama/American government is doing by imposing authority on something the government is already trying to rectify then we won't agree on that. You can try and support Senator Delima and the CHR there. Most of the media are also into this with some times click baity material that comes off annoying. Much worse than CNN when they're trying to fill 24 hours with padded sensationlized "News".

Oh and regarding that Benigno Aquino Sr. and Ferdinand Marcos you brought up. That is still one of the biggest unsolved mystery. No one knew who killed him. I'm on the side where I give benefit of a doubt. There was absolutely no reason for him to assassinate Aquino ON THE SPOT due to the obvious uproar that it will bring.

Lastly Benigno Aquino Sr. is also leaning on the communistic side. And he is also married to Cory Cojuanco(aka President Cory Aquino) who by the way, belongs to a rich and powerful family who ordered the shooting of unarmed farmers when they tried to protest about the land that was supposed to be distributed by the Marcos regime. Check the Hacienda Luisita massacre.

After Cory Aquino was seated, most of the Cojuanco clan members took power of the rural areas and also took some key position in the government to protect their conflict of interests. Their actions lead to why the farmers protested in the Hacienda Luisita decades later.

See how colurful my country's history is? See how effecient our governemnt is? And this was almost 4 decades ago.

Anyway I'm done with this. There's so much I want to say but I don't want to ass myself just so I can barely explain the very nature of this complex and deep rooted corruption in our country. Nevertheless if you think it's unsafe I can't blame you. I also won't try to convince you otherwise.
