The very fact that MS has one in the Xbox One S and the console costs $300 shows that it does not cost a fortune. Microsoft is not going to sell their console for $300 if just the Blu Ray drive costs to manufacture $200.

No one here said it costs that much. The only assumption anyone made was you in that it couldn't cost more than $10.

I stand by that $10.

Sony can probably make the cheapest ones out of anyone. They aren't new, they don't have to pay any licensing fees, and they woudl be making it in MASS.

The solo players out there won't sell a fraction of what the Pro could/will sell. They would be making millions of them. Thta brings down production cost making bulk. 

Then there is the HDR possible war. Sony makes their console a hit again and they practically guarantee that HDR10 wins and Dolby Digital, which you need to pay for, becomes obscure. Now they leave it open for Dolby Digital to become the main HDR out there and Sony has to end up paying for that on their TV's, Players and future gaming systems to support Dolby Digital.
