Then upscale that for a 4k output. Just sounds like a much better use of resources than pushing for as high a native resolution as possible. Cause that can cause it's own issues. eg. Take Horizon for instance. Say all we have seen of the game is of it running at 1080p@30fps. They could end up with a game that looks/runs worse than the og PS4 version if they push for native 4k. Or even 1800p. |
Yes, I agree, it's much better to go for 1080p with all the 'extras' than it is the produce 4K by making the tech behind the game bare boned. We might see some native 4K games but they're likely to be games that don't really push the hardware in other ways, like Don't Starve or Starbound. I do however expect everything else to be 4K, like Netflix or Blu-ray playback. Sony will want to go with 'native' 4K messaging if possible.
