Killing people is something very distant from our usual routine. It doesn't relate to us like sex and that's why people don't get too offended with it. When people see sex in games, they can relate it to their lifes and can react to it in negative ways such as become embarassed or being repulsed by the uncanny valley effect. But IMO, that's something that will change once we get used to see it and starts to be just natural, because sex is a powerful narrative tool (if used in a good way). We get used to violence in movies and games ever since God knows when and, generally, it isn't even used as a nice narrative tool that has the potential to be.
