I think upfront sales matter the most and then long-term market security. Install base and attach rate are to different aspects of same thing. The worst selling consoles often have so some of the best attach rates, but that doesn't stop them from being failures. Developers have to feel safe about working on the Wii before they just dive in and even when they do, it takes time to develop a game. Change doesn't happen over night.
