1. Yes, just as PS4/X1 was gimped when 90% of their games were also being developed for last gen, this is also the constant reality for PC gamers. Similar to PC gamers Scorpio may frequently offer a 60fps advantage if it features a new CPU. If Microsoft doesn't enforce a temporary (2-3years?) worth of X1 support many X1 gamers would feel cheated with release of Scorpio. MS are not (yet)pushing Scorpio as a X1 replacement.
2. Not all Scorpio games will run at native 4k30fps, but using PC benchmarks is not reliable especially without looking at overall graphical settings etc. Xbox One games that reach 1080p typically have much lower graphical settings (whilst also being more optimised) when compared to PC 1080p benchmarks. The same will apply to 4k.
3. Yes Microsoft is giving consumers an option. If you like PC gaming and have a good rig then Scorpio isn't for you, but Console gamers =/= PC gamers. The Xbox S seems to be off to a good start despite Microsoft announcing most exclusives will also be on PC.
4. RX 480 (5.5Tflops) was just released and costs like $350 right? So Ms could probably get it for $200 on Mass production atm, fast forward to fall 2017 and I think the Scorpio will make a clean profit at $499
Its only confusing if you expect Scorpio to have huge sales targets versus an initial focus on profit margins.
