DF doesn't talk for the entire PC Community... And most are eyeing 4k 60fps if possible but unless you have the most powerful hardware, you can't so most PC gamers either play at 1080p 60fps or 1440p 60fps... So I don't get why would you call them hypocrites.

As a PC gamer, 4k 30fps isn't acceptable but it has to be that way until we get hardware that is powerful enough to run it at 60fps. (Or turn some settings down). But that is why I don't own a 4k monitor

Also the drive for 4k gaming is worth it imo. As resolution goes up, the image quality looks better and better. Due to the high ppi, people need less AA than they ever would which allows non blurry images. That with HDR support makes the experience even better. Not sure why you hate 4k so much...
