I haven't seen the videos, but just because one site says that 4K@30fps is fine and acceptable, it doesn't mean that the whole PC community thinks that way.
For instance, the "old" Titan X, 980Ti and the GTX 1080 all can achieve those 4K@30fps in most games, but they aren't considered to be truly capable of gaming at 4K. The new Titan X is the first one that can reach those mystical 60fps most of the time.
Oh, and I wouldn't judge a whole community by what one site or group or users say or do. Or else, they'll do the same, and no one will win if that happens.
