Clipping, screen tear, and noticeable sub-30 frame dips all bug me. But my biggest annoyance might be with patches. Game installs within seconds! But then you gotta wait for a roughly 1 GB patch to download & install to play the game proper. You can't just bring a handful of games to a friend's house any longer, cuz each game not only eats up 40 GB of HDD, but each one requires downloading a huge patch too.

For many reasons I really wish consoles had never interbred with PC...

Whoa there, be careful with what you wish! All my PC games are always up-to-date, and I don't even remember when I've had to take part in updating them in any way. They get updated automatically in the background, and when I want to play, they're all up-to-date. If anything, you want consoles to come closer to PC in that regard.

The moment consoles internet connectivity and HDDs was the moment these things became a problem. It could have been and still could be avoided by the console companies setting policies to restrict what games can do with the HDD and how they update, but they both improve the games in some way so there's no interest in restricting those things. Unfortunately getting to play is harder with installations and updates... Don't modern consoles really have auto-update yet though?

Updates sometimes happen automatically, others don't. My main complaint is how plug & play has died, outside of accessories.
