Having a smart phone doesn't mean you have to watch a conference about the iphone 7.  I don't think I even know anyone with the Iphone 6s (or whatever the huge thing is called). I personally am stuck in the past with an iphone 4.

"Only so much time and space" Do you think newpapers are going to be staying up to midnight to cram their website with thousands of articles about yet another iphone?

They can write one article about the iphone, and one about the playstation. If they write nothing about the playstation they will lose the gamer "clicks".

You are widly blowing this out of proportion to the point of which I'm curious if you are being serious. It strikes me more like you WANT this to be a thing. More and more I'm wondering if this isn't a weird attempt at trying to bait people. Even the title "ruh roh" makes it seem like you are trying to make this a problem for Playstation.

Gamers will surely watch the PS event .. but I am not sure if they are even at the same time.

My point is on media coverage and the free advertising that comes with it. Not who is going to watch said event.

I think its pretty obviously a negative thing for Sony and not something they planned for honestly. Nor could they have planned for it as I don't think Apple's event was known before Sony. Apple of course doesn't care about Sony's event as Apple knows they are the bigger tech fish and will easily take top billing in media coverage.

Will it cause a major impact to Sony's bottom line or long-term sales of the device? No, not likely.

Will it cause a major hit on Sony's possible free advertisement among those who are not normally watching Sony news or viewing gaming sites/media? Absolutely.

Side question... what the hell would I be baiting? Its a simple observation of clashing dates between Apple and Sony and the possible impact to media coverage.
