Bahaha, I think I actually answered my own question. I looked it up, and both are terms referring to graphics. "Popping" is a term used when additional texture appears on an object as you get closer, while "Pop-in" is used when objects suddenly pop-in that weren't previously there. So you are using the correct terminology, I didn't realize there was a similar term for each.
