I'm sure Sony can squeeze more power out of the battery like a couple people mentioned, but I think my most preferred scenario is the one the PSP had: sell the device with a removable rechargeable battery pack, then sell larger capacity ones. It makes the whole process much more user-friendly.
Sure I could unscrew the DS4, but the process could be made easier for people that don't want to go to those lengths. I'm sure there's a market for large-capacity battery packs, and with all the accessories people buy for consoles as it is, a battery pack actually makes practical sense.
