I wish Sony would look at Microsoft's approach and have AA battery support. I have two 2600Mah Nickel Metal Hydride battery's in my 360 and Xbox One controllers.
Beauty of it is, when the battery's are dead, the controller isn't forced to live a cabled life. (And Lithium battery's don't last forever, they have a finite life.)
Although there are external battery packs you can use, but that adds to weight and bulk, sadly.
