Glad to hear your enjoying it! It gets much more intense with every new chapter, don't get to attached to some characters...
It's definitely meant to be played once, although I believe there's a separate mode where you can interact with all the characters in the school without any of them dying. Kyoko is best girl.
I do think the dvd scene was done well, considering it's just to mess with their heads and question whether or not something like this really happened, while they were in the school and force them to take action.
