There's an alternative for the few [vocal] people like you: The current PS4 model.

As for the rest, you are not required to buy a 4K TV to use the Neo or Scorpio. The consoles will work just fine on a regular 1080p screen. You should know that there are still plenty of things that can be improved by having more horsepower while sticking to 1080p resolution. Framerate, draw distance, shadow quality and lighting in general, tesselation, among plenty of other graphical features. So again, you won't be required to have a 4K TV to benefit from Neo and Scorpio's improved hardware. Games on PC, for example, using 1080p resolution and current hardware parts, look quite a bit better than their console counterparts. Resolution isn't everything when it comes to picture quality.

Reminds of The Great Don Mattrick...... if you dont have Internet and cant be online, then you can use Xbox 360.....

We are not few by the way, I will be starting an online petition soon to boycott the new PS4 slim for removing the Optical output.

Yea, good luck with that petition.

You mentioned the Neo above. Not sure why. The Slim is a way to get the PS4 for real cheap, so all unneccesary things have been removed and doesn't seem to do 4K like the XBO S. I'm starting to think they really are dropping to $249, now. The Neo, on the other hand, is going to be the top of the line model. I'm sure it'll have all the bells and whistles, including a 4K upscaler, 4K Bluray player, and, yes, even an optical port.

I'm also think they may just call it the PS4K. It would be a great way to differentiate them.
