You mean go outside and steal a car like in Grand Theft Auto? You mean run my car over a cliff like in Motorstorm or go into a Cathedral and shoot some aliens like in Resistance?
If you really want the most limited visuals, sound and game world, let us all just stick to Pong!
I appreciate modern games as artistical efforts, art of graphics, sound, coding, story-telling, acting and directing all coming together into an interactive experience. Better specced machines only provide the artists with more tools to express themselves.
Could Super Mario World have been done just as well on a ZX spectrum or Vectrex, could Oblivion have been done just as well on a PS1? Personally I don't think so...
