when I first used my google cardboard I had a bit of eye-strain, but after I adjusted the interpupillary distance (IPD) I was fine even with longer sessions
as there afaik is no physical adjustment of that on the PSVR it's certainly a software solution (like with cardboard), so unless you went through setting that up for every demo I imagine the different companies might have used slightly different default settings
