Also you have always a choice. Most choices come with less comfort but if you're ready to give up your convictions for comfort they can't really be that strong.

I understood your point, it's just that you surrounded it with made-up statistics and rhetoric. As for "strong convictions", we're not talking about blood diamonds or Smookum A'lu's slave markets. We're talking about people complaining because some aspect of the operating system they use are getting worse instead of better. Consumers are supposed to complain when that happens.

Funny because that isn't even true.
Windows downloaded that update weeks ago on my laptop, but unless I accidentally press "Update and shut down" or "Update and restart" it's not gonna install itself.

You do know that you can't postpone it forever, right? Even if you have Pro or Enterprise, it will install eventually?
Even if that weren't true, never shutting down/restarting and cutting off all security updates is a terrible solution.
